The Kentucky Transportation Research Program began in 1981 when the Kentucky Department of Highways transferred its Division of Research to the University of Kentucky’s College of Engineering. In 1988, it was combined with the University’s federally funded Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) to form what is today known as the Kentucky Transportation Center (KTC). We provide services to the transportation community through Research, Technology Transfer, and Education. We create and participate in partnerships to promote safe and effective transportation systems..
